DOWN IN THE BUNKER - Caught the debut of ABC's Masters of Science Fiction last night on a Quality Inn television with a screen that times looked like a color 3-D comic sans the glasses. The hour-long episode, entitled "A Clean Escape," was primarily a two-person battle 'tween Judy Davis' angry psychiatrist and Sam Waterston's frustrating Korsakoff Syndrome patient. Though we known from the start that Waterston's character is blocking something appalling, it's only as the episode progresses that we learn what it is. Both actors are enjoyable to watch, but, halfway in, I really started missing the original Twilight Zone, which could've gotten John Kessel's short story told in half the time and not blown the ending besides.
