RE-NESTING: Well, we arrived Friday at our destination, Safford, Arizona, safe but probably not all that sound. As I write this, we're currently residence-free, looking for a place to rent until we can sell our house back in Illinois, livng out of a Best Western. For those who don't know Safford (and there are folks who've lived in Arizona who've told me they don't recognize the name), it is the town Albert Brooks used when he wanted to strand his character and Julie Hagerty in the middle of nowhere in Lost in America. The town's grown since that classic 80's comedy - it's in the midst of a mining boom - and as far as I can tell, there's not a Der Wienerschnitzel anywhere to be seen. Will write more atcha when we're finally settled, but I thought I'd let you know what's up since I know you worry so . . . # |
