"THE CHILDREN KNOW HOW HE CAME TO LIFE ONE DAY." Mark Evanier embeds another of the holiday cartoon perennials which regularly used to show up on Chicago's WGN at this time of year (and was also recently included in the superstation's "Bozo, Gar and Ray" retrospective), the UPA version of "Frosty the Snowman." Mark also helpfully links to a site selling DVDs of four classic holiday 'toons, which includes some neat background info on "Hardrock, Coco & Joe" and its companion-in-seasonal-creepiness, "Susie Snowflake." Didn't know that George Pal had a hand in the production of the stop motion shorts, but, considering his earlier Puppetoons, that makes sense.
