ROOTS: As a relative newcomer to the Arizona territories, I'm still acclimating myself to the area in which we've roosted, and last night our very neighborly neighbors, Clay and Sally, did something that's helped to ease the process of transition. New Year's Eve, I mentioned at a neighborhood get-together that I was feeling a little disappointed over the fact that neither the front nor back yard of our current home has any cactus in it. "How can we claim to truly live in the desert without cacti?" said I at one point. Well, yesterday, our neighbors, who have a wonderfully landscaped front yard filled with prickly pear cactus, did some trimming and brought eight cuttings which they transplanted in the outer fencing area of our front yard. So when I look out our front window, I can see each stubby li'l cutting nestled in the sandy ground. Thanx, guys!
