BIBLIOPHENIA: Spent the last two days at a conference in Phoenix (hence the radio silence) which gave me the opportunity to visit a bookstore for the first time in six months. (Where I live, the only book shoppe in town is an LDS one.) Half a block away from the Four Pointe Sheraton was a Barnes & Noble, so the first day the conference ended, I made an instant beeline for the B&N. First thing I noticed when I walked through the doors was how much I love the scene of a big ol' bookstore. Ordering stuff online may be convenient, but there's nothing like the smell of a store filled with unread books.
Bought a manga pb (Dark Metro) for myself and a bargain book for Becky. It wasn't a big sale, but it still gave me a warm feeling to have wandered through all those aisles and aisles of books. Later, when a bunch of us went out for dinner, I discovered a comic book store (Atomic Comics) was less than a block away from the B&N - unfortunately, it was already closed, and I didn't have any time the next day to get to it. Mebbe next conference.
