HALLOWEEN FUN: Went to the Safford Recorder's Office yesterday to vote early: was told that bizness was pretty good - by two o'clock, they'd had something like two-hundred voters come in that day. The ballots were old-fashioned, ink-in-the-hole affairs, so there's no risk of hangin' chads here, by gum! "Now I don't have to pay any attention to any more political ads!" I happily think, as my wife and I exit the building. That night, in between Jennifer Love-Hewitt's conversations with the dead, we get to see an ad that's new to me at least: a thoroughly appalling anti-Obama bit of holiday fear mongering that tries to resurrect the Reverend Wright imbroglio. Though I try to avert my eyes, I can't not watch. Damn, but these people are shameless . . .
