ADIEU TO HEROES: Because I tend to remain overly hopeful that once-prized shows will be able to turn themselves around from a slump, I may be one of the few Heroes viewers who has actually made it all the way to the end of its "third chapter." Watching its conclusion over the weekend, though, I'm pretty sure I won't be going back. Written by the recently ousted Jeph Loeb, the chapter finale was as painfully bad as it gets. When the once magnificently creepy Sylar, fergawdsakes, tells us that even the invulnerable can be brokenhearted, we've moved beyond campiness to just-plain-crappy. And when our title heroes spend their time swiping a formula that nobody thinks to copy (what, mad scientist Suresh didn't scan the thing and save it on a flash drive?), I sure-as-shootin' start to tune out. All you smarter viewers out there can say, "I told you so," but I think that's it for this viewer . . .
