RAY: So how is Lawrence Fishburne's Ray Langston doing since the big hand-off from William Pederson's Gil Grissom? Judging from last night's deep-fried and minty fresh ep, the new C.S.I. lead's still feeling his way around the lab (still figuring out how to fit a simple lunch break into the hectic work schedule -- which played out nicely against the episode fast-food setting). There was a nice moment near the hour's end where Langston was allowed to lift a tiny smile, which bodes well for the character. As for the regulars, with the exception of Wallace Langham's Hodges, they all appear more restrained -- a sensible way to behave, given that they have a new, unfamiliar supervisor, though regular viewers can't help missing the reliable bursts of enthusiastic goofiness from Eric Szmanda's Greg.
Still miss Gil, though . . .
